Noyes Family – Studio Photography Session in AZ

Pepper and her family recently visited my studio all the way from the Four Corners region, and from the moment she reached out to plan their session, I knew it was going to be something truly special. Pepper had such a unique vision, and her excitement was contagious. Between her creative ideas and the warmth of her family, it was clear that this session would be one to remember.

We started the day with a classic white background setup, a timeless favorite for family portraits. We even did some headshots for Pepper with that same white backdrop! Pepper’s family was so easygoing and fun—it didn’t take long for everyone to settle in and start laughing together. Moments like these are what make in-studio family photography so rewarding. There’s something magical about watching a family’s love shine through in every image.

Next, Pepper and her daughter wanted to try a high-fashion look, and they absolutely nailed it. Wearing sleek black tuxes and bold statement glasses, they brought a whole new level of style to their portraits. It was incredible to see their confidence and unique bond reflected in this chic and edgy look. As a family photo studio, I love helping clients step out of the box and create something that feels both personal and extraordinary. These portraits were definitely showstoppers!

For a more relaxed vibe, we switched to a green backdrop and styled everyone in jeans and white T-shirts. This look felt casual and playful, showcasing their personalities in a way that balanced the more formal portraits we’d already captured. I’m a big fan of variety in family sessions, and this combination of backdrops and styles gave us so many beautiful options. The green backdrop added a touch of warmth and character, making it a standout choice for studio family photography.

One of the most memorable parts of the session was working with Zander to capture his portraits. He wasn’t immediately sold on smiling for the camera, so we tried everything—funny faces, silly noises, you name it. Ultimately, what won him over was me pretending to fall to the ground in the most dramatic way possible. Moments like these remind me how much joy comes from making someone laugh, especially during a photo shoot. I’ll be sharing a video of that hilarious moment here on the blog because it’s just too good not to share!

After the session, we created a stunning glass-covered printed album featuring all their favorite portraits. From the timeless white backdrop to the fashion-forward tuxes and the casual green setup, the album told the story of their session perfectly. I loved the album so much —it’s a true work of art! To top it off, we also designed a beautiful hand-painted canvas for their home, which will be a striking centerpiece that celebrates their family’s love and connection.

Pepper’s family brought so much creativity, laughter, and heart to their session. It was such an honor to capture these moments for them, and I’m already looking forward to the day I can photograph them again.

Whether you’re local to Mesa, Arizona, or planning to make the trip from farther away like Pepper’s family, I’d love to help you create memories like these.
